I Know The World's a Broken Bone...

When Obama was elected, I felt really good about America.  It shouldn't be his race that matters, but I still felt really proud of us for electing a minority as our leader.  I felt overwhelmed by the importance of it.

Now that California had decided to consciously ignore equality, I feel really disgusted by Americans.  I feel hopeless.  I can't stop crying about it.  I even called my mom because I needed so badly to relate to somebody how horribly disappointed I am.  I know discrimination isn't gone, and never will be, but I never thought the government would let it happen so blatantly.

... but melt your headaches, call it home.

*sigh* I just got a heartbreaking e-mail from two Aunts living in CA, they are crushed.

I just don't get it. I really don't. Andrew Sullivan just posted about how Californians just passed a law protecting ANIMALS but won't do the same for married gay people.

I though Cali was cool...hip...progressive.

I'm with you you both. Utterly disgusting. The good news is that change happens. It won't be like that forever.
